The Euro Municipal hire fleet continues to grow...

The Euro Municipal hire fleet continues to grow and we have recently added another impressive looking vehicle…

This latest Macpac 110 has been designed and built to effortlessly cope with the demands and regulations of the food waste industry.

The collaboration between Euro Municipal & Macpac is intended to assist existing Macpac customers with rental vehicle options, but also to provide an alternative food waste collection vehicle offering to existing Euro Municipal customers too.

This Macpac 110 has been built on a 16t DAF LF230, which is an ideally suited chassis for this type of application. The fully sealed Macpac body, affords for an impressive payload of up to 8.5t. The bin lift has a SWL of 500kg and has also been fitted with the VWS (Vehicle Weighing Solutions) Enviroweigh bin weighing system, so that customers can monitor and report on the waste data being collected. For added safety, this vehicle also includes a CONTEL 4x way camera system, complete with downloadable hard drive and remote access functionality. This vehicle has got the lot... Okay, it doesn’t quite have the ‘kitchen sink’, but it does include ‘ bin washing jets ’, to clean out those dirtier food waste bins.

Due to the continuing growth of the ‘parts’ side of our business, we have an opening for an additional Parts Advisor to join our team. The current job position at Euro Municipal Ltd is to work in our Parts Department. This highly rewarding role will prove both interesting and challenging for the right applicant.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Order preparation: Picking and packing of parts for customer orders and booking deliveries through various couriers and our own parts delivery service.

• Stock control: Organising and ensuring all parts, service items and consumables are regularly replenished, providing a prompt service to customers and our own workshop.

• Customer service: Help customers with enquiries, developing customer relationships by providing sound product knowledge and a continually effective service.

• Fork Lift Truck driving loading & unloading parts (FLT driver training given, if not already trained).

Skills / Experience:

• Experience working in a similar environment, with a knowledge of Refuse Collection Vehicles and associated vehicles would be desirable, but not essential.

• Highly organised

• An eagerness to "get involved and improve" upon current systems.

• Sound computer knowledge

• Excellent communication skills

• Full valid UK driving licence

Euro 6 Mercedes Econic Hire RCVs for ULEZ

In preparation for the enforcement of Ultra Low Emission Zones we have ordered a batch of euro VI compliant refuse vehicles specifically for the rental fleet.

ULEZ

The first stage of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) comes into action on the 8th April 2019 as part of a Government scheme to reduce air pollutions in our larger cities such as London. In brief this affects diesel cars, vans and trucks which will have to be euro 6 emission compliant in order to enter the zone(s) without paying a daily penalty charge of up to £100. This has had a huge impact on companies, across many sectors including the Waste and Recycling industry, who operate within these geographical areas. Their options have been to move quickly to invest in later equipment, hire vehicles in, prepare to pay the fines or trade elsewhere.

Euro 6 Hire

As well as updating the age profile of our hire fleet to also coincide with the above we have acquired a batch of 2018 and 2019 Mercedes Econics that are euro 6 compliant and can enter ULEZ zones as a long-term contract or spot hire vehicle to cover you if your truck is off of the road – The first of which is already being operated by a London Local Authority!

7.5t Isuzu food waste collection vehicle with Euro 6 engine for hire.

As our hire fleet grows so does our vehicle offering as we have now added a 7.5 tonne dedicated food waste vehicle to the fleet. The purpose built six meter cube body is made of aluminium and is a sealed unit which makes it ideal for carrying food waste.

The Isuzu chassis is fitted with a euro VI compliant engine, which means it meets existing LEZ emission standards as well the ultra-low emission standards being introduced in 2020. Brief specification of the vehicle is as follows;
